HOLIDAY COCKTAIL RECIPE: CRANBERRY LIME BEER MARGARITA

Holiday cocktail recipe, cranberry lime margarita, drink recipe, festive cocktails

Despite my blog name including the word “Prosecco” my friends and family know that my other favorite drink is a margarita. And in my opinion, it’s a drink that can (and should) be consumed year round. This is a great festival holiday cocktail recipe that’s super simple and tastes delicious. And it looks pretty too!

 INGREDIENTS (Makes 2 Margaritas)

1-2 Mexican Beers (I prefer Modelo, or Negra Modelo)

Tequila (about 2 capfuls)

2 Limes

Fresh Cranberries

Cranberry Juice (about 6 oz)

Coarse Sea Salt

Ice

DIRECTIONS

Squeeze one whole lime into mixer. Pour in about 6 oz of cranberry juice. Add about 2 capfuls of tequila. Pour in beer to fill mixer (approximately 1-2 full beers). Stir drink to combine juices and beer (DO NOT SHAKE). Cut remaining lime into quarters and use lime wedge to line rim of glass. Coat the top of glasses in salt. Fill glasses with ice, garnish with lime wedge and a few cranberries. Pour drink into glasses. Serve and enjoy!

OUTFIT DETAILS: SWEATER // MELANIE AULD BRACELETS AND RINGS // LOREN HOPE CUFF // ROSE GOLD WATCH

In between preparing for Thanksgiving, decorating, holiday shopping and everyday life  is the age old question of what to wear! Of course that depends on the events you’re attending (office party, gathering with friends, fancy soiree) so over the next few weeks I’m sharing some of my favorite holiday style ideas for the season. Of course it wouldn’t be the holidays without a pair of plaid pants, and I am absolutely obsessed with these tartan trousers from Talbots because they’re wool (warm but not itchy), and the slim silhouette makes them modern and chic. Paired with red heels and a cashmere sweater I can’t think of anything more festive. To keep warm I wore this great buffalo check coat  but if two prints are too much for you, I love this boiled wool coatMore of my favorites from Talbots are below and you can check out my holiday style guide here.

It can be so hard to look chic when the weather is cold. At 8am when I’m walking Nora, it’s not a good look, but unfortunately I can’t wear two pairs of pants, uggs and a fur hat to client meetings so I have to find ways to stay warm without sacrificing style. These over the knee boots have been on repeat in my wardrobe since I got them because there are so many staying options (last seen here and here). But they are great for cold weather because they cover a large portion of your legs, and you can wear high wool socks without them being seen. Leopard and plaid is one of my favorite ways to mix prints, and while it’s subtle here it really makes the colors pop. And since I was having a bad hair day, I added some Loren Hope jewels to elevate my outfit. I’m excited to team up with some fabulous bloggers for a $750 cash giveaway just in time for the holidays! Enter in the rafflecopter below. Giveaway ends 12/16. Good luck!

I’m back home after an amazing few days in upstate NY with Fohr Card and Anne Klein. I shared a few behind the scenes on Instagram but can’t wait to share more with you guys.   While I was up there we had our first snow of the season (which admittedly had me a little bit excited) and when we weren’t shooting I was bundled in my plaid capeIt is by far the best travel companion I have because it’s so warm and cozy but it’s also chic (and did I mention reversible?). Layered over cashmere it doesn’t get much warmer. I’m starting to think about what to pack for Paris and it will certainly be coming along with me, as well as these booties which are super easy and comfortable to walk in but also have a heel because I RARELY wear flats. In case you missed it, I posted a new gift guide over the weekend, and I’ll be sharing some holiday style inspiration over the next few weeks so stay tuned!

I’m headed to upstate NY today for an exciting project with Ann Klein and Fohr Card. I’ve never been to the Catskills so I’m really looking forward to it, though it’s supposed to be FREEZING so I really hope I brought enough layers. I’ll be sharing some behind the scenes on my Instagram and I thought it would be a good chance to share the details from some of my latest Instagram pictures. You can also have product links sent directly to your email after liking one of my photos on Instagram if you’re signed up at Liketoknow.it (I did a post here explaining how it works). Happy Monday!

P.S. I added a new gift guide over the weekend and did a sale roundup of some great cold weather faves for winter.

As I mentioned last week, next to entertaining, decorating is my favorite thing during the holidays so I was more than thrilled when Staples asked me to try out their new Cynthia Rowley Collection for a home office makeover. I’m such a huge fan of Cynthia Rowley as a designer, and she doesn’t disappoint in her new collection of office accessories either. I am very particular about staying organized and maintaining a clean workspace, I just can’t be productive if my desk is a mess, but I also want it to look pretty! Her designs which include pretty florals and gold metallics add the perfect pop of color to my workspace. I used her storage boxes to organize my paperwork and keep things I don’t need on my desk out of site but still within reach. Her floral memo pad is so pretty (love the gold pen it comes with) and perfect for dotting down notes when I’m on  a call or keeping track of my mile long to-do list. One of my favorites from the collection is the magazine files because they’re such a nice way to keep my books and magazines organized, I even used one for all my notebooks clearly I have way too many). I added a few little personal touches including some Paris shopping books, my favorite jewels for some pretty color and sparkle and my plaid heels for a nice festive flair. And of course, finished it off with a blue mason jar full of fresh flowers because you can never go wrong with pretty pink blooms. The Style at Staples Cynthia Rowley Collection is available in stores now.
